Facebook’s acquisition of the popular messaging app,
WhatsApp is very recent and big news in the IT world, which most news channels
displayed. While doing it however, a news company that committed a big blunder
is BBC News. The missing “e” caused a great chuckle, where BBC mistakenly
posted Messaging as Massaging. Most users didn’t notice this typo, and it was
only after BBC corrected the same 30 minutes after its first news got
published.
The news was released late last night, where most
users were just in time going to bed, so this missing or replaced “e” didn’t
really created that havoc.
The release of the correct headline half an hour
later by BBC actually made readers notice the very tiny error that happened.
What created the giggle more was the acquisition amount, which is a whopping
$16 billion, which Facebook or any other company would never shell out for a
massaging service.
Many twitter users tried posting the screenshot of
this funny yet tiny inaccuracy, making giggle and jokes about the super-costly
rubdowns and as it being a great new perk for the employees at Facebook.
The innocent mistake by BBC News might have
overshadowed the story for many, but the deal made by Facebook will now give
access to 450 million users who are a part of this messaging service. Mark
Zuckerberg thus described the deal as an extremely valuable one.
