Windows 8, an operating system from Microsoft,
lacked many features, which users of today expected. So, with rumors for the
new OS from Microsoft coming up, users have now started making speculations.
Windows 9, with not even the announcement officially made by Microsoft; users
have already released a list of 5 mandatory things, which Windows 9 must
possess.
- Users expect increased flexibility for layouts. The liberty to divide widgets into smaller sized tiles which can be arranged vertically or horizontally in the form of a grid will help users move in and out from apps effortlessly. Windows 8 displayed Snap Widgets, which made navigation easier, but the room for improvement still remains. This feature will help users in enjoying increased functionality and ease of switching between tabs.
- The new version of Windows OS should be able to run the Modern apps in a window on the desktop. The Windows 8 tile display was good for a standard laptop. But not very great, where productive tasks were concerned. Also, many of the apps function only in the desktop mode. The new Windows 9 must thus give users the freedom to lock their PCs even in the desktop mode that would make the Windows experience on a laptop more consistent, the start screen should also not be omitted.
- The trackpad standards on the new version of Windows OS are expected to be more consistent, it felt like the trackpad on every Windows 8 device felt different and used clicks and gestures differently. Thus, if a standardized experience for trackpad can be incorporated with the new version, users will surely find Windows much more usable than before.
- The inconsistent display settings were one of the biggest issues with Windows 8. Connecting a PC to a pixel-dense, larger screen made display look good in tile mode, but not in the desktop mode. Adding a second display made things more confused. Seeing the super HD screens, which PC makers of today have started using, the new version by Microsoft should possess a display that looks good in any mode and irrespective of the device on which it’s being viewed.
- Users are looking for increased interactivity to share media and move work from one device to another, which they think must be included in the new OS by Windows. Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 and Xbox One are created on the same base and share a suite of utilities and services that operates as an adhesive that binds products. The overlap feature on inter-devices, however still remains missing.
