http://www.supportbuddy.net/support-for-norton/
Full System Scan on a Norton product is a process to detect the hazardous malicious codes and if found, eradicate them without causing any further harm to the host system. However, so that the process is executed in the correct manner and the output is exactly what is desired two major steps must be run that are further divided into several pre- defined steps. The two major steps are as follows: Run LiveUpdate and Run Full System Scan.

To run a Full System Scan on your Norton product, either the Norton support number can be ringed, or the Norton tool must be started. This should be followed by clicking on the main window >> click on Security and finally a click on the tab LiveUpdate. Post over of Norton LiveUpdate, the option OK must be clicked upon. Until the message: ‘Your Norton product has the latest protection updates’ appears on the screen, LiveUpdate must be executed. Finally, the computer must be restarted. However, before restart of the machine all the opened programs must be exited. Then, to begin the exact process of running a full system scan, the Norton tool must be started. Then, in the main window, first click on the option ‘Security’ followed by a click on ‘Run Scans’. In the Scans window, the option ‘Full System Scan’ should be selected and then the tab inscribed with ‘Go’ must be clicked upon. When the scanning gets over, the tab ‘Finish’ must be clicked upon.

Note: The above described steps are applicable only on the latest release of Norton applications and not on the older releases.

However, if it is found that it is difficult to manually run the full system scan using the Norton utility, SupportBuddy’s Norton support number: 1-888-976-5633 should be ringed and assistance must be asked for the successful completion of the process.
